Dr. Silver graduated cum laude with honors in Neuroscience from Williams College, and earned her medical degree from the Stritch School of Medicine–Loyola University Chicago. She completed her otolaryngology training at Harvard University.
She is an active member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American College of Surgeons. She has been selected to serve on the Board of Governors Socioeconomic and Grassroots Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Silver has authored many peer-reviewed articles in the field of otolaryngology, including articles published in Laryngoscope, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Archives of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and JAMA, and she has presented at numerous regional and national meetings, including the Annual Academy Meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. At Harvard, she was the recipient of the Jeffrey P. Harris Award for excellence in research.

She is fluent in French and proficient in Spanish.
