Swallow treatment may include:
- Medicine to target associated medical conditions, and/or
- Surgery to remove, relax or repair tissue in the larynx or pharynx
- Swallow therapy to address muscle weakness, swallowing techniques, and diet, including:
- Muscle exercises
- Practicing new ways to swallow
- Counseling regarding swallow function, swallow effects on nutrition, and food preparation
